What is Islam

Islam started since the beginning of this world. First Adam(PBUH) was sent, later whenever man goes towards evil Allah sent messengers for preaching and bringing back on the right path. All the Messengers came for a particular area or community while the last prophet Mohammad(PBUH) came for the entire mankind, and after that no prophet will come according to Quran. David(PBUH), Moses(PBUH) and Christ(PBUH) were the prophets of islam, who came with the same teachings of calling towards one God(Allah), as He is superior and merciful and other than Him nobody can harm and profit you. As time passed people started calling them the sons of God(Judaism & christianity) and shown the wrong meaning of their teaching for personal benefits and worldly profits.

Where did Islam begin?

It is unknown that where Adam(PBUH) was sent first, and for Muslims his teaching are important not the place.

Islam began in the holy city of mecca, and was founded by Muhammad in 610 A.D. They believe in only one God Allah.

They worship in churches. It started with Muhammad believing in Allah. They practiced it based on the Koran.

The Word of koran

In the name of Allah most Gracious, most merciful. Praise be to Allah,

the cherisher and sustainer of the worlds; most Gracious, most merciful.

Master of the day of Judgment. Thee do we worship, and thine aid we

seek. Show us the straight way, The way of those on whom thou hast

bestowed thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not

astray. Muslim tradition holds that the koran is a message of Allah, deliverd

through Muhammed ibn Abd Allah, as dictated through to him by the angel Jabreel

(Gabriel). It was delivered in Arabic, and all attemps at translation into other languages

are demmed inadequate to proper transmission.

The five pillars

The five pillars are: faith, prayer, fasting, pilgrimage, and alms.

Islam

Muslims believe in one God, and that no other god has the right to be worshiped but Him alone. He is the true God, he has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes. In the Qoran, God describes Himself. God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything in the whole universe. He manages all affairs. He stands need of none of His creatures, and all His creatures depend on Him for all that they need. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, and the All-Knowing.In a perfect manner, His knowledge encompasses all things, the open and the secret, and the public and the private.

The Beliefs of Islam

Allah is the Arabic word of God. This God is the Sovereign Lord of the Universe. Everything that occurs is according to his will. He is also the source of good and evil. The Koran assigns 99 names to Allah. The 100th name is secret and only known by the camel! God gave prophets (the Koran mentions 28) to every age from Adam to Muhammad. Muhammad, the last and greatest prophet, was sinless as all the other prophets. Jesus was the prophet of the previous age. They affirm that Jesus was born of a virgin, and performed many miracles, but they vehemently deny that he was God, was crucified, or rose from the dead. Islam believes that each age was given a book through its prophet, but all has been lost except portions of the Old Testement, and the gospel of Jesus which was corrupted by Christians.
